User Experience in the Cosmetics Industry
I dedicated an entire seven-week class to learning and discovering user experience. I decided to combine my love for cosmetics and my newfound interest in UX. After figuring out the basic topic of my project I needed to dig deeper and focus on one specific thing within UX. So I decided to focus on how UX designers create a positive experience for the user, by working with cosmetics websites.
I had written a proposal, created a timeline, decided what I needed to do and get in order for the project to come together. Once all of the pre-planning was completed, I began the project itself.
I learned that UX research is a tedious and time-consuming process. I am proud of the work I was able to put together because it was my first time doing it and it taught me more about myself. I learned how to conduct UX surveys and interviews, create wireframes, and most importantly, I learned how to put all of that together into a legible project. I thoroughly enjoyed the project, and it showed me that I enjoy quite a few aspects of UX.
