My Take on Glaser

Milton Glaser is among one of the most celebrated graphic designers in the U.S., he designed a poster for Bob Dylan’s Greatist Hits. Which is one of the most recognizable pieces of art. I decided to challenge myself and create a piece that is inspired by Glaser’s piece.

I started by study color theory to see what colors I would want to put together and how they would look because I didn’t want to put a bunch of random colors together that wouldn’t be visually pleasing. Colors also evoke specific emotions and feelings and I needed to keep that in mind while designing my piece. After looking at the color wheel I decided I wanted to create three different pieces that would collectively make one large project. I chose the actress Zendaya as my muse. The three color schemes I chose for my pieces were monochromatic, complementary, and triadic.

I enjoyed this project because I got to learn more in-depth about color theory and I created these pieces in Adobe Photoshop. Check out my project below!
